THE ALLSTARS COLLECTIVE - GIGS FOR KIDS!

You have joined a band, learned to play some songs and completed your first term, so what's next? Like all great bands you push on, new goals, new challenges, new songs and new levels of awesome-ness!

Through each school term you will keep working as part of your band to improve your playing skills, learn more songs and develop your ability to 'lock in' together as a group.

What YOUR FIRST ALLSTARS TERM INVOLVES

The Allstars, Shoreham Lancing and Worthing

When you join the Allstars you will be busy straight away, here's is what your first term will look like:

  • Develop your playing or singing skills with your band
  • Extend your set list of songs
  • Build your bands character and identity
  • Perform at live events (Allstars annual gig programme)
  • Enjoy benefits of being a member of the Shoreham Allstars community

Developing your band

In your first term you'll have learnt your first set of songs. So from now on it is about building on this foundation, month by month moving your band on by developing and honing your playing or singing skills around a bigger range of music.

As you progress we will start to help your band become more creative. Moving beyond covers to creating your own music and your own version of popular songs, in short this is the beginning of your band forging its own musical identity.

Performing - the real deal

As part of the Allstars Collective you will continue to get lots of opportunities to play live gigs across Sussex.

Not just end of term shows, you will be a part of the Allstars UNIQUE annual gig and event programme. We have 30 events a year including national festival, Wild Life, Beach Dreams Festival, Brighton Dome, Brighton Marathon and BHA FC Bandstand.

Plus we also have our own 100 capacity venue, Allstars Penhill Arts Centre, where we put on events with our bands throughout the year.

If you want to perform, the Allstars is the only place for young musicians to be.

It doesn't stop there!

Although our teaching and lesson time is focused around the school terms, there are also lots of opportunities for all our young musicians to get involved in holiday activities such as extra band rehearsals, song writing workshops, stage skills workshops and more. Please note there is an additional charge for holiday activities undertaken. Find out more»

"It was great. I got to jam with a range of different musicians and got set targets for the regular shows e.g. choosing covers to learn in a band or writing original songs. I got to perform in a lot of different scenarios, being at a festival or outside on bonfire night! "

Cody Thomas-Matthews, singer and bass player, High Tyde
